I am an AustralXXXXX XXXXXving in Ecuador SA and have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Not many Drs speak english and I do not have any health cover here. The Dr I saw put me on sleeping pills because I don't sleep, they help a little, and an Anti-depressant and some muscle relaxants and that's all. The pain at times is unbearable, I also suffer earaches, irraitable bowel, migraines, hives, fibro fog just to name a few. Is there something better I could be taking and recommend to him to give me?
Hi there, one of the best drugs that have a nice utility in fybro is Pregabalin (Pregabalina = Lyrica in Ecuador). You can start with 75 miligrams each 8 hours, the improvements are really good and you can increase the dosage if it´s good but insufficient.

Hope that helps you and you can have a nice quality of life.

will I still need to keep taking the other medications?
Yes, is recomended but if Lyrica start makin "his job" you will notice that you will need less the pain killers and the muscle relaxant.

Hope you found utility in my answer and I would love a positive feedback if it was the case :)

Do I need a prescription for the lyrica or can I get it over the counter? I have also heard of patches I think they are called transtrack that last 3 days have you heard of these patches and are they are available in Ecuador?
You need a prescription for lyrica and about the patches is true that can be used in your condition but becouse they can make you drug dependant is better to wait or try other drugs before like lyrica.

Greetings :)

I have been a cronic migraine suffer for over 30 years and while I lived in Sydney Australia I was seeing a noted Neuologist for 5 years and he tried me on everything, and I do mean everything. The only thing that seemed to help was a drug similar to the drug they used to sell here in Cuenca Ecuador called Naramig. Which was great, then about 6 months ago the stopped selling it. I cannot get a reason why they did this and I cannot find out if it will be resold again. Nothing else I take helps, and I am allergic to Codine so don't know what else to take? do you know anything about this situation?
